Usher and H.E.R. recently released a steamy new music video for “Risk It All,” their collaboration off The Color Purple soundtrack.
“The song brings together these two award-winning superstars for a special collaboration that encapsulates the raw emotion and enduring strength of The Color Purple’s film narratives: risk, love and liberation. Usher’s signature smooth tones blend seamlessly with H.E.R.’s soulful depth, creating a hymn of resilience and courage,” an official description reads.
In the video, Usher sports only a pair of skin-tight black boxer briefs, while H.E.R. matches with a low-cut black corset paired with black shorts.
Usher gave a shoutout to H.E.R. on Instagram, writing, “U produced and co-wrote such a beautiful record. Appreciate U for blessing this video with all of your greatness.”
The Color Purple, a coming-of-age period musical drama film directed by Blitz Bazawule from a screenplay by Marcus Gardley, was released on December 25.
The movie is based on the stage musical of the same name, which in turn is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker. It is the second film adaptation of the novel, following the 1985 film directed by Steven Spielberg.
The soundtrack also features songs from the musical sung by Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, Halle Bailey, Phylicia Pearl Mpasi and Fantasia Barrino.
