Children attending a Taylor Swift-themed event at a dance school in Southport, England, were attacked in a mass stabbing on Monday. Two children are dead following the attack, and nine other children were injured, with six of them hospitalized in critical condition. Two adults at the scene are also in critical condition. Police have disclosed that they arrested a 17-year-old originally from Cardiff in connection with the stabbing. Merseyside Police Chief Constable Serena Kennedy confirmed during a press conference that the children were attending a Taylor Swift-related yoga and dance class at The Hart Space when the suspect, wielding a knife, walked into the location and attacked the group.

“We believe that the adults who were injured were bravely trying to protect the children who were being attacked,” Kennedy said. While authorities have yet to determine a motive, it is not currently being treated as terror-related. (People)
