Questlove isn’t impressed with the ongoing and intensifying feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The Roots drummer and joint frontman slammed both rappers and declared, “Hip Hop is truly dead.”
In an Instagram post with the caption, “Here We Are Now. Entertain us,” Questlove wrote, “Nobody won the war. This wasn’t about skill. This was a wrestling match level mudslinging and takedown by any means necessary – women & children (& actual facts) be damned.”
“Same audience wanting blood will soon put up ‘rip’ posts like they weren’t part of the problem,” he added. “Hip Hop truly is dead.”
Questlove was referring to both Drake and Kendrick bringing family and children into the diss tracks.
In total, the two artists have traded ten diss tracks, which were kicked off by Lamar when he fired at Drake on the Metro Boomin and Future track “Like That.”
