Nicky Minaj‘s “Super Bass” has been certified diamond by the RIAA after the 2011 song moved 10 million equivalent units combining actual song sales and streams.
Released as a single from a deluxe edition of Minaj’s debut studio album Pink Friday in 2011, the fan favorite track soared to the No. 3 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spent a total of 39 weeks on the chart.
In a message of gratitude to her fans and a number of artists on Instagram, Minaj shared a video showing her diamond silver-and-pink plaque.
“#SuperBassDiamond Thank you for over a decade of support. #Barbz (special thx to Ester Dean, Kane, Juice, Taylor Swift, Sofia Grace & Rosie, Ellen, Young Money/Cash Money & Republic. This one was released b4 the streaming era, so millions of fans actually purchased the song. [pink bow emoji] I’m so grateful for you guys. Sending love & blessings your way,” the rapper wrote.
