Documentaries about Kanye West and Sinead O’Connor are set to premiere at Sundance 2022.
Netflix‘s Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy will premiere at the film festival in January. Jeen-Yuhs was directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, more commonly known as Coodie & Chike.
The documentary focuses on Ye’s life and work and features previously unreleased archival footage of the young Kanye West at work.
In September, Netflix had shared a trailer for the documentary on its platform. Billboard previously reported that Netflix had acquired the docuseries for upwards of $30 million. It is set to drop on the streaming service in 2022.
Nothing Compares, a new Sinead O’Connor documentary, will also screen at Sundance 2022.
Directed by Kathryn Ferguson, the film will focus on the career of the Irish singer-songwriter by charting her brief rise to global fame “and subsequent exile from the pop mainstream” between 1987 and 1993.
