Juice WRLD has been immortalized in an animated music video for the song “Already Dead” from his posthumous album Fighting Demons, which was released on December 10.
The video, directed by of Steve Cannon, sees an anime version of the late rapper as a samurai, engaged in a sword battle with a ferocious enemy.
“You can see the pain in my laugh/ Demons comin’ back from the past/ Feelin’ like I’m ’bout to relapse/ Voices in my head/ All I can hear them say/ Is, ‘Everyone wants me dead’/ Bi-, I’m already dead/ I’ve been dead for years,” he raps on the track.
The video also features never-seen-before clips from various stage performances and studio recording sessions of the departed rapper with his voiceover telling his fans to never give up on their dreams.
“Even if it seems like it’s impossible, it’s very, very possible,” Juice says. “So don’t get nervous if you have a big goal. Just chip away at it until you get to where you need to be.”
Talking about his son, who died in December 2019 of an accidental overdose, the rapper’s mother, Carmela Wallace said, “He never gave up and his friends and family never gave up on offering their support to him. We encourage all of you who struggle with addiction and mental health to never give up the fight. We continue to extend free support to you via LiveFree999.org created in his honor.”
“There was nothing Jarad ‘Juice WRLD’ Higgins enjoyed more than delivering new music to his millions of fans around the world. He left behind an astonishingly deep catalog of music that will ensure his fans will have new songs to listen to for years to come,” she added.
