Glass Animals‘ hit single “Heat Waves” has reached No. 1 on Billboard‘s Pop Airplay chart.
According to Billboard, “Heat Waves,” which entered the Pop Airplay chart dated February 20, 2021 and reached the top of the chart in its 11-month, has made the longest trek to the No. 1 spot in the chart’s nearly 30-year history.
“Heat Waves” is a track from the band’s 2020 album Dreamland. Meanwhile, the band has also earned their first Grammy nomination this year for Best New Artist.
Previously, the song had set a record for the longest ascent to the top 5 of Billboard‘s all-genre Hot 100 chart. The song took a record 51-week climb to the top 5.
“Heat Waves” had also set the record for the longest trip to the top 10 of the Hot 100, reaching the top 10 in its 42nd week on the chart.
