Sir Elton John took to Instagram on Tuesday (September 3) to reveal his prolonged vision issues after suffering a “severe eye infection” earlier this summer. John is slowly recovering from the ailment, which has left him with “only limited vision” in one of his eyes. The music superstar wrote the following about his current vision condition: “Over the summer, l’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye. I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye. I am so grateful for the excellent team of doctors and nurses and my family, who have taken such good care of me over the last several weeks. I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home, and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”

Elton retired from performing after wrapping up his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour in July 2023, which is the third highest grossing tour of all time behind Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour and Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres Tour. (NME)
