Singer-songwriter, record producer, musician, and actor Ed Sheeran is all set to release his fourth studio album, = (Equals).
To be released in late October, the title of the new album takes after Sheeran’s longtime tradition of naming his albums after mathematical symbols, with his most recent album being the 2017 critically acclaimed record, Divide.
Equals is “a really personal record and one that means a lot to me,” he shared. “My life changed greatly over the past few years – I got married, became a father, experienced loss, and I reflect on these topics over the course of the album.”
The loss being referenced is that of the legendary musician, Michael Gudinski earlier this year, as a tribute to whom the singer wrote the song “Visiting Hours” and performed the same at the memorial.
“I see it as my coming-of-age record, and I can’t wait to share this next chapter with you,” he added.
