During a sneak-peek at Jimmy Fallon‘s new music and comedy variety game show series “That’s My Jam,” Chance the Rapper accepted a musical genre challenge and gave a country-rock spin to Nelly‘s “Hot in Herre.”

The Chicago rapper remixed the song with an extra twang, and his performance left his partner Joseph Gordon-Levitt stunned. Alessia Cara, who also took part in the competition series, clapped her hands to Chance’s performance.

“Never in my life did I think that was gonna work!” exclaimed Fallon.

“That’s My Jam” is NBC‘s latest variety game show offering. Centered on celebrities competing in music-themed challenges, each hour-long episode features two teams squaring off for charities of their choice. The show premiered on Monday (January 3) on NBC.
