Cardi B recently took to social media to heap praise on My Chemical Romance, sharing a clip from the music video for the band’s 2004 single “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” from their sophomore studio album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.
“They don’t make music like this anymore,” the “WAP” rapper tweeted.
The clip shows MCR frontman Gerard Way and the other members as outcasts at a fictional high school, who later get into a face off with the popular kids.
My Chemical Romance responded to Cardi’s post, saying: “Grazie mille Cardi!”
Some fans agreed with Cardi’s views about the rockers, while others wanted to know whether any music from her is on the way.
“Cardi are you about to be in your emo era?” one fan wrote. Another tweeted, “Remember when you used to release music? We miss that.”
