Adele Promises Las Vegas Residency Will ‘Absolutely’ Happen This Year

Adele, who recently postponed her Las Vegas Residency, has promised her fans that it will “absolutely” happen this year.

The singer made the comments on “The Graham Norton Show,” which airs on the BBC in the United Kingdom.

“We are now working our arses off, but I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I know everything will definitely be ready,” Adele said. “The sooner I can announce, the better, but I just can’t in case we are not ready in time.”

“It is absolutely 100% happening this year. It has to happen this year because I’ve got plans for next year,” she added. “Imagine if I have to cancel because I am having a baby!”

Adele, who was set to kick of her “Weekends with Adele” residency on Friday, January 21, at Caesars Palace, was forced to postpone the residency as a result of Covid-related production delays.

“I’m so sorry, but my show ain’t ready,” Adele said in a video posted on social media. “We’ve tried absolutely everything we can to put it together in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID.”

“Half my crew, half my team is down with Covid. They still are, and it’s been impossible to finish the show,” she added. “And I can’t give you what I have right now, and I’m gutted.”
