Paramore have joined a number of artists calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and urged fans to donate to relief organizations to help the war-stricken Gazans.
The punk-rock trio wrote on Instagram that they stand in solidarity with those calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire.
The Grammy-winning rock band urged fans to join them in donating to the non-profits Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders, which are providing humanitarian aid to the surviving victims of the war.
“We do not believe that support for our Palestinian friends and family equals anti-Semitism,” Paramore wrote. “We love our Jewish friends and family and pray for the safe return of the remaining hostages. That being said, we simply cannot support a genocide.”
The post came a day after pop superstar Dua Lipa also called the war an “Israeli Genocide.”
At least 66 people, including women and children, have reportedly been killed since the Israeli military launched an attack on Rafah on Sunday night in apparent retaliation for a Hamas rocket launch from Gaza’s southernmost city towards Tel Aviv.
Vital medical supplies are fast running out in Gaza’s remaining hospitals, the World Health Organization warned on Wednesday, amid reports of continuing Israeli bombing and hostilities in the enclave.
