Kanye West Declares Victory As ‘Donda 2’ Ruled Ineligible For Billboard Charts

Kanye West has claimed victory after his latest album Donda 2 was ruled ineligible for Billboard charts.

Ye shared a screenshot on Instagram reporting about Donda 2‘s Billboard chart ineligibility. “Big win for the kid,” Ye wrote. “We can no longer be counted or judged We won we won we won we won We make my own systems We set our own value aaaand yesterdays price is not todays price baaaaabeeeee!!!!!”

Ye released Donda 2 only through his Stem Player on February 23. Billboard said that as “the album is being sold with a device that can be used for other means besides the playing of the album, the Stem/Donda package fell within Billboard’s latest merch bundle policy, where albums sold with merchandise are not chart eligible.”

“Since the Stem Player is a fairly new concept, however, people familiar with the matter from both Billboard and MRC say they plan to continue to monitor its evolution as it relates to chart eligibility,” Billboard reports.

Donda 2‘s predecessor Donda, which dropped on August 29 last year, had topped the Billboard 200 albums chart with 309,000 equivalent album units.

Ye’s Stem Player has been successful, with West claiming that he made $1.3 million in the 24 hours following his announcement about Donda 2‘s availability.
