Justin Timberlake’s ‘Mirrors’ Joins YouTube’s Billion Views Club

Justin Timberlake‘s vide for “Mirrors” has join YouTube‘s coveted one billion views club.

The eight-minute video features montages of three separate time periods of an elderly couple’s life, from their initial introduction and falling in love on a date, to the difficult start of their marriage with a pregnancy, to when they have grown old together and the old lady is packing up her recently deceased husband’s belonging whilst reflecting on their life together.

“Mirrors” was recorded by Timberlake for his third studio album, The 20/20 Experience. First conceived in 2009, the track was inspired by his relationship with Jessica Biel and the marriage of his grandparents.

The song had peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Mainstream Top 40 in the United States.

Timberlake had previously dedicated the music video to his maternal grandparents, William and Sadie Bomar, who were married for 63 years until William’s death in 2012. The video is choreographed by Noemie Lafrance.
