Coach Prime Signs New Deal With CU Buffs. 4 More Years!

Simplified

In recent years, football in Colorado has been nothing to get excited about. From college to the NFL, we were a laughing stock for football fans all over the world.

Fortunately, those dark days appear to be over. Not only did the Denver Broncos find their guy in Sean Payton, but the University of Colorado Buffalos did, too.

When CU signed “Prime Time” Deion Sanders, or “Coach Prime” as he’s more famously known these days, the excitement for CU fans was off the charts!

While the first season was full of hype, we didn’t see the wins follow the hype until year two. With the success of a 9-4 season last year and nearly making the Big 12 Championship, the rumors of Coach Prime leaving CU for the NFL got louder and louder, especially with both of his sons and his right-hand guy, Travis Hunter, all moving to the NFL this season. Those rumors are a bit quieter today, as a deal has been struck!

Deion Sanders Signs New 4-year Contract Extension With CU Buffs Football

The Colorado football angels are singing as Coach Prime is staying put through 2029 as the Head Coach of the CU Buffs!

Prime is now one of the highest paid coaches in the country with his salary jumping to $10 million+ a season starting with the 2025 season. The extension is worth $54 million through 2029.

To Buffs fans, it’s money well spent because when we signed him in 2022, the Buffs finished 1-11, so this man has more than earned his money. Not to mention all of the extra dough he generated with sponsorships, viewership, and more.

Congrats, Coach Prime, and GO BUFFS!
