PRE SURGERY

Height: 5’7” Weight: 319.8 pounds
I have been researching this for years. Many of my friends have had the procedure and I have been so jealous of their success. I have three kids, 6, 6, and an 8 year old and cannot afford such a procedure and still keep up with bills. My husband is obese as well and I really want him to understand how important it is that we lose weight before we orphan our kids.

I am a professional firefighter and I am ridiculed every day for being an obese female firefighter. In fact I have been pushed into leaving the firehouse because of it. I just want my life back. My doctor recently told me that I will die if I don’t lose weight. That had a very huge impact on me. My insurance won’t cover the procedure but I really need help.

I have tried Atkins, Body for Life, Weight Watchers, and every other think that has come along. I even tried eating like my friends that have had the procedure and I just need help. I can’t do it alone. I pray every day for some miracle to help me.

I want to get back to being healthy. I want to have something permanent that will stay with me when I feel like I don’t want to eat right. I know having this surgery will help me make the right choices every day. I want to teach my kids how to eat right.

I want to lose enough weight so that I can do the kind of workout I used to do. I used to bench 225 pounds and now I’m too embarrassed to even walk in the gym. I want to change my life! I want to feel good about myself again. I want to buy clothes that aren’t T-shirt and sweats. I want to get back to the firehouse. I want to stop having back and joint pain. I want to live life again without fear and embarrassment.

I want a life altering experience. I want to feel like we can adopt another child and I will live long enough to see all my kids grow up.

Hi Mix100!
I just wanted to give you a quick update. I had my Lap Band surgery on September 25, 2009. I have lost 52 pounds! I feel great.  It is amazing how much more energy I have already. I feel better, sleep better, and eat better than I have in a long time. Dr. Snyder, Dr. Perlman, and their staff at the Denver Center of Bariatric Surgery have been absolutely wonderful. They have the system down to a science, so it is apparent why they have such a well-respected reputation.  I cannot thank you all enough for what you have done for me and my family.
