About Jodi's Race
Jodi’s Race for Awareness has become an anual fund raising event benefiting COCA and promoting it's mission. It was the inspiration of Jodi Brammeier, a Colorado native, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008. She believed she would have caught her cancer earlier had she only been more aware of the signs and symptoms. It became her goal to raise awareness about ovarian cancer through this race so that other women might find their cancer earlier, and stand a chance to win against this deadly disease. The first race was held in June 2010, with a record number of participants for a first-time race. Unfortunately, Jodi lost her battle August, 3, 2010, less than two months after the inaugural race. However, her memory will live on in Jodi’s Race for Awareness
