The Dom and Jane Show

Jim Carrey stars as Scrooge in this classic Dickens Christmas tale.  The cool thing is that it’s all animated and in 3D!  The animation is breathtaking, especially with the action sequences.  It’s a decent family movie, but you should keep the little ones at home.

This was scarier than I thought it would be.  The haunting spirits can be intense at times, and I would imagine they would frighten kids 7 and younger.  However, since it was frightening at times, it pleases adults so they don’t have to sit through a cheesy holiday flick.

This movie will hit many emotional buttons, but sometimes it forgets about your funny bone.  Carrey is excellent as Scrooge, but I feel like this movie just assumes you know the story.  I think that if I didn’t know the story and saw this movie, I still wouldn’t know much about Scrooge.

Child’s Pastry Shop delivered Jane’s birthday cake today, and it also had a patriotic flair for our special all veterans Live Audience!  Steve and the crew at Child’s Pastry Shop have earned the title of “Official Cake Provider” of the Dom and Jane show.  Looks like Jane really likes it!

Jon Gosselin and Hailey Glassman have said they’re not breaking up . . . they’re taking a “break.” But in an “Entertainment Tonight” interview last night, they basically ended things on national TV. After Jon said Hailey thinks he’s been “emotionally abusing” her, Hailey said she didn’t want to talk about it on TV. Then they both kinda lost it, and she said that being together isn’t healthy. The second half of the interview is set to air tonight, and from watching the previews, it looks like it gets even better. Chelsea Handler jokes about rumors that President Obama is “manorexic,” and says she can’t wait to see the tabloid cover where he “gets his presidential body back.”

Apparently not wanting to be extradited from Texas, Randy Quaid and his wife requested their case be put on yesterday’s court docket in Santa Barbara. Once again, they didn’t show up. That’s the fourth time. The Quaids are accused of running out on a $10,000 hotel bill in the area, which they have since paid.

Ryan Seacrest’s stalker has been officially charged with felony stalking. If convicted, he’s looking at a maximum of four years in the slammer. It turns out this guy is a member of the U.S. Army reserves and is a Special Forces member. Translation: He’s lethal. The Army issued this statement yesterday: “We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Jeremy and his wife Nicole got in an argument because one of her friends at the gym said that “Jeremy’s chest looks so good and to please tell him I said so.”  He liked the compliment, but Nicole thought it was out of line.  Look at that body though - wow!  It would be hard not to say something!

Butterfinger Squares Recipe

6 Butterfinger bars, standard size. Chop up 3 bars into a bowl, then mix in about 6 cups of toasted rice cereal and set aside.

Melt 3 tablespoons of butter into a saucepan and add 4 cups of miniature marshmallows. Carefully heat on stove top until somewhat melted. Add the chopped bars and cereal mixture, then gently stir it all up.

Pour the results into a 13 in x 9 in baking pan and let it cool until hardened. Crumble the rest of the Butterfinger bars across the top and then cut the pan contents into squares. Serve like fudge squares. Delicious!
