So, after we had Rosie the Tarantula in our studio on Friday, I started thinking about the concept of  ‘facing your fears’.  I wrote about it on my blog.   Maybe you have some fears you’d like to face.

One of the surprises that ran during the Super Bowl commercials was a promo for CBS’ “Late Show”. Jay Leno and David Letterman sat on opposite ends of a sofa with Oprah in between. Our friends at the Butterfly Pavilion stopped by the studio today and brought Rosie the Tarantula!  Dom wanted to face his fear, and Jane was super into it.  Even though Tizzy was terrified, she held Rosie too!  Check out all the action in our video below and in our photo gallery right here!

Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, was supposed to surrender to authorities today, according to his lawyer. L.A. authorities (cops and prosecutors) have been haggling over how this should go down. The sticking point has been whether he should be arrested or allowed to turn himself in. The LAPD isn’t satisfied with him surrendering and wants to arrest him. They had several reasons for this position, including the possibility that the doc might pull an O.J. and flee before arraignment. As of late yesterday, the whole dilemma had put everything on hold. 

Dr. Conrad Murry visited Michael Jackson’s burial place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. I must sadly admit that this was my least favorite Nicholas Sparks’ book turned movie.  Not because it didn’t stick exactly to the book, but because the story didn’t get me emotionally attached.  Sparks’ romance novels tend to grab you right from the start, but with this adaptation, you’re left on the sidelines watching.

Don’t get me wrong, the chemistry between Channing Tatum and Amanda Seyfriend was hot.  They were very believable as a couple head over heels in love.  Even the relationship between Tatum’s character and his father was really good. 

I just wish the movie spent more time showing their blossoming relationship in the first two weeks they met.  It seems to focus more on their letter writing, but that just got boring after a while.  It leaves you with more of a “meh” feeling than an “aww” one, which is disappointing in my book when it comes to romance stories.

TMZ is reporting that one of Tiger Woods‘ alleged mistresses is threatening to sue a golf businessman who has released a line of golf balls with photos of Tiger’s mistresses on them.  The woman at the center of the situation is Joslyn James, a former porn star who claims she had an affair with Woods. James, whose smiling face is on one of the “Tail of the Tiger” golf balls, is concerned that the golf balls send the wrong message and encourage violence against women.  The box of 12 golf balls is being sold under the name, “The Mistress Collection.” … Read the rest of this entry »

Dom and Jane,

Here’s what’s going on in our house.  I’ve been a stay-at-home dad with our son for the last several years.  My wife and I decided that one of us would do that until he turned five, and it seemed like we’d do better with her job than mine.

Well, now our son just turned five, and I’m starting to look around for work.  My wife came home from work the other day and mentioned that one of her co-workers was moving out of state.  I perked up and told her that this particular job was perfect for me.  Her company has no policy against family members working together.  Hell, it’s actually where we MET years ago.

Anyway, this job is right up my alley, and I want to apply.  My wife says that she thinks it’s a bad idea for us to work together.  She admits that it’s tough to find a job these days, but we’ve done fine for five years, so if it takes another few months it’s not a big deal.  If I got this job it would not only be with the same company, but in the same department.  I think it sounds fantastic for us to get to finally spend some time together, but she’s against it.

So who’s right?

The “highlight” of the “American Idol” auditions in Denver last night came at the end when a guy named Ty Hemmerling came on set in a bikini and began to speak/sing Billy Ray Cyrus’ “Achy Breaky Heart”. It resulted in the judges fleeing the set. As they beat feet Kara DioGuardi told Bikini Boy, “Don’t move your hips like that, honey.
